Trek Variations
There are numerous varations for the treks.
If you had the time, a complete traverse fo the range can be carried out, starting at Villa Cathedral and finishing at Colonia Swiss taking anything from 4 to 7 days depending on trekking pace.
Camping:
Campsite are available at all refuge locations and there are also smaller camping areas between them. There are very limited options for camping outside these areas due to the nature of the terrain.
Punta Norte:
An alternative to access Pico Turista: Note isis a very difficult route with a small section of scrambling and route fining skills are requierd. there are section of vey loose rock, where no path is visable.
Start: Bahia Lopez - head NW around the coast following a small path. The path disapear and a route is barely visable that heads south up the Ridge. No sources of water en route until near Pico Turista. Its a long slog, especially in the heat.
